Hi, I’m Elliot.
I’m a mom of two, wife, speech-language pathologist, entrepreneur, doctoral student, chronic idea-haver, and a person who has never been particularly good at staying in one lane.
Professionally, I’m a speech-language pathologist and the founder of The Essential Teletherapist, where I work to make virtual speech therapy better for clinicians, schools, and the people we serve. I’m also pursuing my doctorate in educational leadership & strategic communication.
But this isn't my professional website.
Elliot, Actually is about everything else.
It's about building a career and a life I actually want. Going back to school at 40. Prioritizing experiences and education over “things.” Getting stronger, healthier, older. Building a business. Spending money, saving money, and occasionally wondering where all the money went (spoiler: daycare).
It's about motherhood and ambition existing in the same person.
It’s about finding myself again.
And sometimes it's about things that don't fit into a category at all.
For a long time, most of my online presence has been tied to what I do. I'm an SLP. I'm a business owner. I'm an educator. Those things are important to me, but they're not all of me.
So I wanted a corner of the internet where I didn't need a niche.
A place to write about our family trips alongside thoughts about entrepreneurship. To talk about pursuing a doctorate alongside what I'm packing for New York. To share something I'm learning, something I'm loving, or something I've been thinking about entirely too much.
That's Elliot, Actually.
Not a perfectly curated life. Not an expert opinion on absolutely everything. Just one woman with a lot of interests, a lot of ambition, a family she loves, and as anyone who knows me can confirm a lot of thoughts all the time.
On life. Actually.
